How does SkinPen® work?

What can I expect at my SkinPen® Treatment?

Your aesthetician may apply numbing cream to your skin in order to keep you more comfortable during your microneedling session. This typically takes 30 minutes to take effect, depending on the treatment area. After your treatment, your skin may appear slightly pink to red, similar to a mild to moderate sunburn.

Who Should Not Use it?

SkinPen® should not be used on patients who have active skin cancer in the treatment area(s); open wounds, sores, or irritated skin in the treatment area(s); an allergy to stainless streel or anesthetics; a hemorrhagic (bleeding) disorder or hemostatic (bleeding) dysfunction; are pregnant or nursing; or are currently taking drugs with the ingredient isotretinoin (such as Accutane).
